Sefitude
Sefitude contains extract of valerian root that has sedative and anxiolytic effects. It is a mild sleep-promoting agent and reduces nervous tension without affecting performance. It helps shorten the time it takes to fall asleep and increases the quality of sleep by reducing sleep stage transitions. Sefitude can be used along behavioral sleep therapy to promote and maintain good sleeping habits and is a good alternative to synthetic sedatives.
Sefitude is sold over the counter in pharmacies. Available in Iceland and Sweden.

Herbal medicinal product
Product description
Sefitude is registered as an approved herbal medicinal product in Scandinavia and valerian root is a recognized medicinal herb. Clinical trials show that valerian root is as effective as low dose oxazepam and much better tolerated.*
The effects of valerian root are gradual and continued use over 2 – 4 weeks is recommended to achieve optimal treatment results. Sefitude is generally well tolerated and can be used from 12 years of age.
Sefitude contains a standardized extract which is important to secure that the user gets the correct dose of the product. Due to the gradual onset of therapeutic effects, valerian root is not suitable for acute interventional treatment.
